[ETHIOPIA FIELD UPDATE] Government and Civil Society’s Organization Partnership Consultative Forum

From May 27–28, 2023, a pivotal two-day Partnership Consultative Forum was hosted by the Bureau of Finance of the Amhara Region and local CSOs. This forum served as an opportunity for mutual learning, collaboration, and recognition between the government and CSOs.

With a dynamic agenda that included an exhibition and panel discussions, the forum also recognized significant contributors through a series of awards. These awards honored both donors and CSOs who have made remarkable efforts in support of the region’s development and emergency needs.

The Millennium Water Alliance (MWA) actively participated in the forum, showcasing our ongoing work on the Sustainable Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program. MWA was also pleased to provide financial support for the event, assisting in offsetting some of the costs associated with its organization.

We are delighted to report that the regional government acknowledged MWA’s work, as well as the work of other stakeholders, by presenting certificates of appreciation. This recognition serves as a testament to the collective commitment to improving the lives of the people in the Amhara Region.

We are especially proud to announce that MWA received a certificate of appreciation on behalf of our generous donor, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Their unwavering financial support and substantial contributions to both development initiatives and emergency response efforts in the Amhara Region have been instrumental.

We would like to note that the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation is one of the top five donors who have provided critical support to the Amhara region during this challenging period in Ethiopia’s history. We deeply appreciate their continued faith in our mission and work.
