Care International in Kenya KALDDR-WASH program is USAID funded under the Millennium Water Alliance (MWA).The program aims to increase water storage capacity in arid lands, through improving natural and artificial storage to enhance access to safe and clean water.

Under this project item, CARE is rehabilitating Skanska borehole water scheme in Lagdera sub county, Garissa County.Skanska borehole has one animal trough (for camels) and one water kiosk which do not satisfy the growing animal and human population. The rehabilitation includes construction of two new animal troughs (one for cattle and another one for shoats), and two new water kiosks all to be served by an existing elevated tank through a gravity system.
