FH HOSTS KALDRR PROGRAM LAUNCH EVENT

After months of postponement, the KALDRR WASH program launch was finally launched by USAID Kenya Mission Director Karen Freeman on 15th November 2013 at Lowangila village together with other resilience Porgrams-The REGALS.
Lowangila had attained ODF status after 3 months of hardwork following the CLTS triggering in June.

The successful Launch event was also attended by high ranking officials from both the National and County governments from the ministries of Health, Livestock and National Drought Management Authority.

In her remarks as she officially launched the USAID resilience programs, the USAID Mission Director commended the three programs for having set the ball rolling in ensuring ASAL communities become more resilient through the WASH,DRR,Livelihood and Economic Empowerment interventions.

The climax of the launch event was the joint unveiling of the ODF plaque by the USAID Kenya Director and the Director of Public Health, Kenya Dr. Kepha Ombacho and official handing over of the Nationally recognized Open Defecation Free Certificate to Lowangila community CLTS Committee,CHWs and their chief for the great job well done.

Other neighboring triggered villages that were in attendance witnessed this and committed to attain ODF status soon for the same ceremony to be done for them.
