LOWANGILA VILLAGE AWARDED ODF CERTIFICATE

Posted Dec 7, 2013

It was a great day for Lowangila village residents as they hosted the launch of the KALDRR and other USAID resilience programs on 15th November 2013.

It was double joy for this village as they were also celebrating the Open Defecation Free and award ceremony in the presence of the USAID Kenya Mission Director who officially handed over the ODF certificate to the CHEW and CHWs together with the CLTS committee and their area chief. All these had worked round the clock to spearhead the village in attaining ODF.

All the 116 households in Lowangila now have latrines for use and no one is now using the open for defecation.

The Mission Director was joined by the director of Public Health, Ministry of Health, Dr. Kepha Ombacho in unveilling the ODF plaque and awarding the village the ODF certificate.
