Coca Cola Officials See Work in Ethiopia

The Coca Cola East Africa Bottling Company visited WaterAid’s sites in the Arba Minch and Kemba woredas of Ethiopia in December 2013.  This visit was meant to showcase the achievements of MWA’s two-year program funded by The Coca Cola Africa Foundation, which began in early 2013.

Included in the visit were the program’s newly built Ventilated Improved Pit Latrines at schools in the area, complete with hand washing facilities; additionally, Coca Cola representatives were able to meet members of two women’s groups, created as a result of this program (see picture below).  These groups have begun growing vegetables and fruit using overflow water from reservoirs and water points, thereby demonstrating the Multiple Uses of Water approach that is a cornerstone of this MWA program.
